Flying in especially from America, Gloria Gaynor will open this year’s National Television Awards.
The I Am What I Am singer will launch the gong show with a bespoke, epic performance that will pay homage to the celebrated disco era.
Gaynor’s performance will follow a short film of National Television Awards host Dermot O’Leary being put through his paces by NTA nominee Bear Grylls in preparation for the toughest, most gruelling task of Dermot’s life -hosting the 21st National Television Awards. Ever the professional, Dermot insisted on being suited and booted throughout his harsh training.
Celebrating its 21st birthday, the award ceremony honours all our best-loved stars from some of the most successful shows in television’s biggest night of the year. The NTAs is the only television awards show where all the winners are chosen by viewers in a huge nationwide poll.
Gloria is known for her hits I will Survive and Never Can Say Goodbye. You can see Gloria perform on the National Television Awards, broadcast on ITV from 7.30PM on Wednesday 20th January.
