Emmerdale star Adam Thomas wants his character to be gay

Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has said he would be up for his character having a gay relationship.

The actor shared his enthusiasm for the idea with The Sun, expressing a belief that it would ensure a ‘good storyline’ for his character Adam Barton.

“Whoever’s gay seems to get a good storyline so I’m hoping Adam turns gay. I’m putting it out there. I’m not bothered about snogging another guy – I love guys.

“I’ve not kissed a guy yet, but there’s a first time for everything. If you’re gonna go there, go there. Life is a celebration. Make each day count as they said in Titanic.” – Adam Thomas

In the Emmerdale plots Adam is married to Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), has had his fair share of female attention, and even once rejected the advances of his friend Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller) but soap fans should know better than to rule anything out.

Thomas, 28, took time out from his role late last year to take part in ITV’s jungle based reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! on which he finished in third place.

He has appeared in the rural saga since 2009 and is expected back on-screen in February.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, UTV and STV with an additional outing at 8pm on Thursdays.
