Also on the night, an expert panel will be on hand to offer their thoughts on how the songs could be made to look and sound on stage in Kyiv. They are Bruno Tonioli, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and CeCe Sammy. They will form part of an eight person jury. The winner of Eurovision: You Decide 2017 will be decided by a combination of viewer and jury votes.
The songs and acts are to compete for the “honour” of representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Semi Finals will be broadcast on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th May on BBC Four, and the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final will be broadcast on 13th May on BBC One.
Danyl Johnson, a school teacher, is the early 2/1 favourite on Betfair to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 which take place in Ukraine on May 13th.
“The shortlist is essentially a who’s who of people who have not made it on X Factor. Danyl made it to the semi-finals back in 2009 after an incredibly strong rendition of The Beatles in his audition and his song Light Up The World is the 2/1 favourite to win the vote and become the UK’s Eurovision entry for 2017. He’ll be hoping that if he can’t light up the world, he will at least be able to light up Europe. – Naomi Totten, Spokesperson for Betfair
Danyl Johnson – Light Up The World 2/1
Holly Brewer – I Wish I Loved You More 5/2
Olivia Garcia – Freedom Hearts 3/1
Nate Simpson – What Are We Made Of 5/1
Lucie Jones – Never Give Up On You 6/1
Salena Mastroianni – I Don’t Wanna Fight 6/1
“Holly Brewer, who was also unsuccessful on X Factor, performed at Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s wedding in 2015 and her song ‘I Wish I Loved You More’ puts her in second favourite position at 5/2.” – Naomi Totten, Spokesperson for Betfair
