BBC Parliament is to air a six part series featuring Steve Richards looking at six of the most recent out of office British Prime Ministers.

BBC Parliament is to broadcast Leadership Reflections with political commentator Steve Richards on the theme of leadership. Starting this weekend, the talks will focus on the leadership of six former prime ministers: Harold Wilson, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron.

Inspired by the lectures of historian AJP Taylor who delivered them without notes or auto-cue in 1960s and 1970s, Richards likewise delivers the unscripted talks in a studio, straight to camera. With each talk filmed in one single take, 30 minutes long, Steve relies on a digital clock as to give him the countdown.

The talks cover the leadership skills of the six prime ministers and their ability to give direction to their party and their supporters. They look at whether they offered sufficient incentive for voters of other parties to support them and how the leaders dealt with dissent within their own parties.

The first in the six part series begins this Sunday, February 12th, on BBC Parliament, at 8pm.
