STV Player has announced it is the first broadcaster globally to provide fully targetable Dynamic Ad Insertion in live streaming on Amazon Fire TV.

The service is powered by Yospace, whose server-side DAI platform allows advertising to be replaced in a way that is consistent with the viewing experience expected of broadcast television. By inserting ads on the server side, the process of delivering fully addressable advertising across multiple platforms/devices is significantly simplified, and this has allowed STV to implement a true multi-platform advertising strategy.
STV Player with DAI-enabled live streaming is available across all Fire TV devices, including the all-new Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote which was launched by Amazon earlier this month. Amazon Fire TV was STV Player’s fastest growing distribution channel in 2016, highlighting the growth of OTT viewing as STV continues to make its content available free of charge to viewers anywhere, anytime.
STV operate the Channel 3, better known as ITV, services in Scotland as well as a number of ‘city television’ local stations. STV is the only remaining independent broadcaster on the Channel 3 network with the rest obtained by ITVplc. STV continue to offer a proud Scottish flavour to its output which has become sadly lacking in other areas since the loss of regional identity on ITV.
