Promo video unleashed for Lucie Jones’ Eurovision Entry ‘Never Give Up On You’

The UK Eurovision team have revealed their music video for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest entry.

Lucie Jones will perform her emotive song ‘Never Give Up On You’ at the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest later this year.

As a singer and actress from South Wales, Lucie has a wealth of experience, beginning with The X Factor in 2009 where she was a finalist. From there she embarked on a highly successful musical theatre career with appearances including as Cosette in Les Miserables, Kelly in The Prodigals, Meatloaf in the We Will Rock You World Arena Tour, Victoria in American Psycho The Musical and Molly Jensen in Ghost, The Musical.

“Never Give Up On You means a great deal to me and I think the video is full of emotion and passion, the way I feel when I perform the song. I hope Eurovision fans around the world will enjoy watching it as much as I have making it.”

The music video was directed by Mark Arrigo and production took place at North London’s Elstree Studios. The entry has been co-written by Daniel Salcedo, 2013 Eurovision Song Contest winner Emmelie de Forest and Lawrie Martin. The music video premiered on BBC iPlayer on Saturday 11th March.

The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Semi Finals will broadcast on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th May on BBC Four, and the Grand Final will broadcast on Saturday 13th May on BBC One.

Winning success will hopefully continue for Lucie who has previously won the DIMF Best Actress in a Musical Award for her performance as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde the Musical. She is currently playing Maureen Johnson in the 20th anniversary tour of ‘RENT!’ the musical. A sports fan Lucie has also performed the Welsh national anthem at large-venue sporting events. She is now excited and honoured to be representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv.
