In the fourth episode of the series, George Shelley heads into Benidorm.

George plays Giles, a university friend of Rob Dawson (Josh Bolt). 

Rob is trying to make use of his Nan Loretta’s swanky Beltoro five star hotel whilst she’s away but it all goes wrong as he ends up a little worse for wear but a chance meeting with university friend Giles ensures he doesn’t go astray. Giles is on a lads holiday and they’re all out in Benidorm in fancy dress. Also in the episode Kenneth has bridges to build and is Sam up to something?

Other guest stars coming up in this the ninth series of the popular ITV sitcom include Dame Joan Collins, Madness, Jason Manford, Amanda Barrie and Uri Geller. Nigel Havers has already appeared as a dubious dentist while fans of the show will be left pondering whether Joyce Temple Savage (Sherrie Hewson) will finally find romance this year with Monty (John Challis)?

Earlier this month ITV announced the show is returning for a tenth run next year with episodes currently in production for the channel. They will see Shane Richie reprise his role as lively entertainer Sammy Valentino for four episodes while John Challis becomes a series regular with his character Monty Staines.

Fan favourites returning next year include Joyce Temple Savage (Sherrie Hewson), Mateo (Jake Canuso), Noreen (Elsie Kelly), Pauline (Selina Griffiths), Liam (Adam Gillen), Kenneth (Tony Maudsley), Sam (Shelley Longworth), Joey (Nathan Bryon) and Jacqueline (Janine Duvitski) as well as The Dawsons (Julie Graham, Steve Edge, Kate Fitzgerald, Bobby Knutt and Josh Bolt) all return with Billy and Sheron celebrating their silver wedding anniversary.

The tenth series will also see legendary comedy pairing Hale & Pace join the series as undercover detectives investigating Tim Healy’s character Les/Lesley, who returns to the series full time.

First screened in 2007 in a 30-minute format, Benidorm has grown to be hugely popular with audiences; commanding around 5 million viewers to initial screenings. The production has also scooped two National Television Awards.
