“Performing live here at Disneyland Paris was really magical for me. We’ve been to the ones in California and Florida, but this is the first time here in Paris performing Beauty and the Beast live for the first time. It was a good night.” – John Legend
Celebrating bringing a quarter of a century of magic to visitors from France, Europe and around the globe, Disneyland® Paris debuted “sparkling” new entertainment, attraction experiences and other new offerings before a host of celebs, international media, and other special guests.
“I’m very excited to be here at Disneyland Paris. I’ve been to Disney all through my life in California and Florida and I think this castle is as pretty as I’ve ever seen and I love a couple of the rides that are unique to Disneyland Paris.
“John Legend performing in front of the castle was magical. He is stunning, he’s just flawless. He has the most gorgeous voice, the most talented person ever and getting to watch him sing with that pristine backdrop of the gorgeous castle was pretty magical.” – Teri Hatcher
Celebrity guests included John Legend, Teri Hatcher, Lisa Snowdon, Kym Marsh, Michelle Heaton and Vogue Williams & Spencer Matthews.
“Disney parks are places that magic is born and it gives you tingles down your spine when you walk through the gates and you see the castle in front of you. The music, the characters, the rides, there’s not one inch of any of the Disney parks that disappoints.” – Michelle Heaton
The events of the day culminated with a sweeping crescendo of fireworks, laser lights and music with the debut of the new Disney Illuminations night-time spectacular and a surprise performance from music superstar John Legend, who dazzled the crowd with his rendition of the new version of “Beauty and the Beast” from the hit live action movie.
“I’m here with Spencer (Matthews), my friend James, Ricky and Dan and we have all been literally running around the parks going on non-stop roller coasters and meeting loads of the characters so it’s been an epic two days.
“Everyone has fun, everyone is smiling and I just think it’s amazing,” said Vogue Williams.
“Disneyland Paris is just such a wonderful place, it’s so magical. We’ve been coming to Disneyland since my children David and Emily were 3 and 5 and now bringing Polly it’s just magical.” – Kym Marsh
Bob Chapek, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, welcomed guests amid a sparkly Grand Opening moment, with cavalcade of performers and favourite Disney characters including Tinker Bell providing colourful fireworks to mark the historic occasion.
Media and guests sampled new attractions and entertainment throughout the day and were preparing even a few surprises during evening events.
“Whatever age you are you have the most amazing time at Disney parks. It’s for people who are young and those who want to feel young and I think that’s what’s so magical about it. It’s juts brilliant and there’s always something new as well. John Legend performing was amazing,” noted Lisa Snowdon.
Spencer Matthews said: “I’m a huge Disney fan even though I’m supposed to be an adult. I feel like it’s very important in life to feel young and Disney Parks keep young so as often as I can you’ll find me at a Disney park. John Legend is a hero. Seeing him perform live for the first time for me in front of the Disney castle was a very memorable experience, something I won’t forget.”
