Celebrating bringing a quarter of a century of magic to visitors from France, Europe and around the globe, Disneyland® Paris debuted “sparkling” new entertainment, attraction experiences and other new offerings before a host of celebs, international media, and other special guests.
Celebrity guests included John Legend, Teri Hatcher, Lisa Snowdon, Kym Marsh, Michelle Heaton and Vogue Williams & Spencer Matthews. The events of the day culminated with a sweeping crescendo of fireworks, laser lights and music with the debut of the new Disney Illuminations night-time spectacular and a surprise performance from music superstar John Legend, who dazzled the crowd with his rendition of the new version of “Beauty and the Beast” from the hit live action movie.
Bob Chapek, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, welcomed guests amid a sparkly Grand Opening moment, with cavalcade of performers and favourite Disney characters including Tinker Bell providing colourful fireworks to mark the historic occasion. Media and guests sampled new attractions and entertainment throughout the day and were preparing even a few surprises during evening events. Disneyland Paris is Europe’s number 1 tourist destination and has seen more than 300 million visits since opening on the 12th of April 1992.
