Reformed boy-band Blue are to headline Blackpool Pride this year, it has been announced.

The foursome will headline the event which will take place in Blackpool this June. Blue enjoyed chart success in the UK between 2000 and 2005 when it was announced the group were going their separate ways.

Following the separation Lee Ryan and Simon Webb launched their own solo careers – Webb also launched his own record label. In 2009 Blue reformed and notably represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf in 2010 with their song ‘I Can’. Their performance earned the UK 100 points coming 11th in the competition but were beaten by X Factor’s Jedward, aka Edward and John Grimes, who represented Ireland and managed to score 119 points finishing in 8th place. The 2010 competition was won by Azerbaijan with 221 points.
