C4Broadcast is reporting that Camilla Campbell has been named as the new head of drama at Channel Four replacing Liza Marshall who confirmed her departure from the broadcaster last week. Campbell is currently the commissioning editor for drama at Channel Four and has been responsible for the channels two successful drama series; Shameless and Skins. Both dramas have proved a success with viewers and critics and will be back for new seasons on the broadcaster next year.

”Liza has done an absolutely fantastic job with serials that are contemporary in feeling if not in subject matter, and also with singles that really have something to say. I want to continue that.” – Camilla Campbell talking to Broadcast.

Campbell joined Channel Four having previously worked as a script editor on ITV’s hugely successful comedy/drama series Cold Feet and BBC’s Family Business. Liza Marshall will stand down from the head of drama role at C4 on the 4th December and Camilla Campbell will take over from the 7th.
