Just several days into the latest run of the Channel Four reality television series and Celebrity Big Brother is already in ratings trouble as figures continue to decline. The decline in ratings since Sunday night’s impressive launch for the final series of the Celebrity version of the reality show may be down to the fact half of the contestants in the house could hardly be described as “celebrities”. Since when did flashing breasts for The Sun newspaper make someone a celebrity? Last night’s edition of the show pulled in just 2.9 million viewers. Monday’s edition pulled in just 3.3 million viewers but it seems even more viewers decided not to return to the show for last night’s round up of events within the house.
Elsewhere Holby City had a particularly strong episode at 8pm, perhaps due to the bad weather conditions outside, with 6.7 million viewers. At 9pm on ITV the second instalment in the new Above Suspicion series pulled in 6.5 million viewers. The figure for the Lynda La Plante drama is down slightly on Monday’s opening episode but ITV will still be pleased with the gritty drama’s strong performance. The third and final part of Above Suspicion airs tonight on the channel.
