The 90 minute special on Channel Five, from 9pm last night, had an average audience of just over 3 million viewers. The second series of the Celebrity edition, since its move to Channel Five, was won by Denise Welch who emerged as a late favourite to win in the latter half of the week. Prior to that the favourites to win were Gareth Thomas and Frankie Cocozza, who came second. Following on Channel Five at 10.30pm was Bit on the Side which had 1.5 million viewers in which the feud between Denise Welch and fellow housemate Michael Madsen continued.
Elsewhere last night BBC One‘s revival of Room 101, with Frank Skinner at the helm, held onto most of its audience. The panel show returned last week with 3.7 million viewers with Friday’s second instalment securing 3.6 million viewers – a small drop overall. Con-drama Hustle also only saw a slight dip in its ratings with 4.5 million viewers compared to 4.6 for last week’s episode. It was enough though to out-rate crime/legal drama Law and Order UK, starring Freema Agyeman and Peter Davison, on ITV1 which had 4.4 million viewers.
