Cher Lloyd has apologised to Cheryl Cole, all be it on Daybreak, for comments she made during an interview which appeared to be a jibe at the X Factor judge and her alleged miming.
Cher Lloyd appeared on ITV‘s Daybreak today in which she discussed her apparent jibes at Cheryl Cole earlier this week. The former X Factor hopeful, who was mentored by Cole, was interviewed on radio earlier this week and made some remarks seemingly aimed at Cole.
In the interview with Real Radio North West Lloyd replied, when asking if she would perform alongside Cole, ‘Maybe if she sings live with me’. When the interviewer asked if performing live would be an issue for Cole the reply was ”Well it is nowadays, when you haven’t got the nifty little button to press!’
On Daybreak this morning Lloyd insisted to presenters Kate Garraway and Dan Lobb that her comments had been “blown out of proportion”. Lloyd said ‘Basically I said something on radio which I shouldn’t have said and it wasn’t intended to sound as bad as it did’ adding ‘I was saying I would love to perform with her and I made a little joke about only if she sang live. I think it all got blown out of proportion. I just want to say sorry to her if she found that offensive. But at the end of the day, she is the person who got me to where I am today.’
Cheryl Cole had already replied to Lloyd’s comments by posting on Twitter ‘Be Careful who you kick on your way up .. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly’
In the same Real Radio North West interview Lloyd also picked on another X Factor judge; Louis Walsh. Lloyd continued her feud with the judge by suggesting he should be absent from the next series.
