War reporter Christiane Amanpour is returning to CNN International a year after leaving for ABC News.

CNN has announced that Christiane Amanpour will feature in a new line-up in the Spring on CNN International. She will be back with her international news and interview programme ‘Amanpour’ which she was hosting before defecting to ABC News last year.

Amanpour will remain with ABC News in her role as global affairs anchor. Last year she was one of a handful of journalists to interview former Libyan leader Col Gadaffi and ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Her return to CNN International comes as the world news channel once again changes its European schedule. Amanpour will air at 8pm UK time for 30 minutes. Piers Morgan Tonight moves to 11pm. In statement released today, CNN said: “We are delighted to see Amanpour return to the heart of CNN International’s lineup”
