Damon Hill joins Sky Sports F1

Sky Sports have announced that former British Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill will be part of Sky Sports F1 HD for 2012.

Sky Sports have announced that former British Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill will be part of Sky Sports F1 HD for 2012. The 1996 champion has joined the corporations new dedicated F1 channel after they won the rights to screen all twenty races from the 2012 season.

It is understood Hill will be there for ten of the races on Sky, with rumours suggesting they may well get another pundit in, forum discussions suggest a possibility it could be Nigel Mansell.

This isn’t the first time Hill has been a pundit. He featured heavily on Sky’s F1 digital pay per view service back in 2002 and deputised for Martin Brundle on F1 ITV twice in the commentary box in the 2007 & 2008 Hungarian grand prix’s

On signing for Sky, Hill said: “The plans Sky Sports have for Formula 1 are very impressive, particularly the dedicated Formula 1 channel and I couldn’t resist becoming involved. There are so many reasons to be excited about the new season and I can’t wait to get started.
