Actress Elizabeth Perkins is to leave the Showtime comedy drama series Weeds after five years – according to The Hollywood Reporter.

 

Actress Elizabeth Perkins is to leave the Showtime comedy drama series Weeds after five years – according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade paper reports the actress has quit the critically acclaimed and award winning drama in favour of a new movie role – Hop from Universal. Perkins plays scheming Celia Hodes on Weeds alongside Mary-Louise Parker and the role has resulted in her receiving three Emmy Nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.

 

Perkins will however, leave Weeds to appear on Hop directed by Tim Hill and also starring Russell Brand and James Marsden. Perkin’s previous film credits include Must Love Dogs, The Ring 2, The Flintstones, Miracle on 34th Street, 28 Days and Cats & Dogs.
