X Factor{jcomments on}The X Factor has announced there will be extra audition shows this series as they aim to make it the biggest series ever.

The eighth series of the talent show The X Factor returns this Saturday to ITV 1 and it looks set to be the biggest to date. They have announced that there will be extra audition shows in which they say: “This year’s contestants give the judges more action and entertainment than ever before as Gary is forced to take to the stage to eject rejects, Kelly mops up tears, Tulisa rows with an angry contestant and Louis finds an Irish singer he doesn’t like.”

This series will also be the first time that the contestants are filmed living together as viewers will get to learn more about the contestants than ever before. The final in December will be held at Wembley Arena in front of 10,000 fans. Dermot O’Leary remains as host.

Speaking of the new judges which replace Simon, Dannii and Cheryl, Dermot says: “The new judges are terrific. They hit the ground running from the very start. We’ve got Kelly with her lovely Southern US warmth, and incredible voice. Every now and then she’ll say to someone auditioning, ‘Baby girl, you needed to hit an A minor’ and I’ll be backstage going ‘what’s an A minor?’ She’ll then hit the note herself and the whole crowd go mental. Gary’s just a national treasure and is so brilliantly honest with people. Tulisa can actually be pretty feisty. She’ll speak her mind. And Louis is Louis, the show wouldn’t be the same without him.”

The Xtra Factor also return to ITV 2 with two new presenters. Previous contestant Olly Murs will co-present with Caroline Flack. On joining The Xtra Factor, Olly said: “It’s great to be co-hosting Xtra Factor this year! It’s obviously the show that means a lot to me, and when Simon called me about it I jumped at the chance.”

Caroline added: “I’m excited and nervous. I love live tv. I kinda like the thought that anything can go wrong… It’s the biggest buzz. And now I’m doing live tv on my favourite show. I keep thinkin What if I freeze? What if I fall over? We have a great crew. I’m sure were all gonna have a Ball! “
