George Webley, best known as ‘Big George’ has died aged only 53. The presenter and musician died in the early hours of Saturday after collapsing at his home in Milton Keynes.

As a TV Presenter he’s hosted programmes such as BBC One’s Inside Out for the London region, reported for The One Show and BBC regional news show Look East. As a composer he devised the Have I Got News For You theme as well as arrangements for The One Show, One Foot In The Grave, Room 101 and The Office. He was also a musician on music show The Tube and bandleader for LWT’s ITV Telethon productions.

George was also a popular personality on BBC Radio London – which his partner former Crossroads actress JoAnne Good also works for. In the past The London Daily News have described JoAnne and George as the Capital’s coolest couple.

Here we celebrate his life with a musical interlude, his own unique take on ‘Grandad’. Click image for the clip

ATV expresses its deep sadness and condolences to George’s family and JoAnne Good whom we had the great pleasure of recording an interview with only last month.
