As Fringe gears up for its big finale at the end of its fifth season fans have been teased as to what the final season for the cult drama will hold – and it’s a leap forward in time for starters. Cast member John Noble has revealed to TV Line that the fifth season will see a big jump in time which will have consequences for the characters.
Speaking at the Critics Choice Awards the actor told TV Line “As far as I know, we’re just jumping ahead… 2036…Walter, Olivia, Astrid and Peter are insurgents, so we know all the dirty tricks that have been played against us. We’ll be learning from the past”
Noble also promised fans that Fringe’s ongoing complex plots will be resolved; “Walter is the man who started this, so there has to be resolution. There has to be redemption. We also have to see the final maturing of the relationship between Peter and Olivia, because it has been so difficult for them and we want them so much to be with each other.”
Fox recently revealed that Fringe will return for its fifth season on Friday 28th September. From late October it will be paired up on Friday evenings with returning Kiefer Sutherland drama Touch.
