Take That lead singer Gary Barlow replaced Simon Cowell when he left to launch the American version of the hit show. Gary told the Press Association that he had taken advice from Cowell before the audition process began. “I spent a little bit of time with Simon warning me what it’s going to be like and how to be and he said what everyone said to me, ‘just be yourself’. It’s been tough, it really has, I think the hardest thing is learning to really be you on camera.”
