A complete list of winners in the television category of last night’s Golden Globe awards. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was when the Best Drama Series category was won not by Mad Men but by HBO’s gangster drama Broadwalk Empire. It seemed as though nothing could compete against Mad Men, the AMC drama set in a 1960s advertising agency but last night proved that you can’t always predict everything. Steve Buscemi won Best Actor (drama) for his role in Broadwalk Empire.
Best Comedy/Musical series was won by Fox’s smash hit Glee – which isn’t surprising. Glee continues to be a huge hit for Fox in America and its return to E4 in the UK last week, for its second series, saw its highest ratings with 2 million viewers watching. There was further success last night at the Golden Globes as actor Chris Colfer won Best Supporting Actor (series, mini-series or tv movie). Colfer’s co-star Jane Lynch won Best Supporting Actress (series, mini-series or tv movie). Best mini-series/tv movie was awarded to Carlos. Best Actor (comedy/musical) went to Jim Parson’s of CBS’s The Big Bang Theory.
Best Actress (drama) was awarded to Katey Sagal of Sons of Anarchy. Best Actress (comedy/musical) was won by Laura Linney for The Big C. Best Actress (mini=series/tv movie) was won by Claire Danes for her role in Temple Grandin. Best Actor (series, mini-series or tv movie) was won by Al Pacino for You Don’t Know Jack.
