The second series of Scott and Bailey ended its run on ITV1 at the end of April; the extended second season saw ratings drop slightly on the first season. Scott & Bailey stars Lesley Sharp and Suranne Jones and according to the former Coronation Street actress the drama has been re-commissioned.
Jones revealed the news to the Radio Times at last night’s BAFTA Awards in which Scott & Bailey was nominated – it lost the drama award to BBC Three series The Fades. Jones told the Radio Times ‘We start filming in November’. Co-star Lesley Sharp praised the show’s writer Sally Wainwright ‘She’s such an amazing writer and has so many amazing ideas…. She gives you some sort of clue about what might happen and then you open the script and none of it’s there and it’s something even better’
ITV have yet to officially confirm the renewal of Scott & Bailey.
