Miranda and Mrs Brown’s Boys Lose Viewers

Mrs Brown's BoysBBC One comedies Miranda and Mrs Brown’s Boys both lost viewers on Monday evening but still performed strongly.

The two comedies have enjoyed high ratings over the festive period but with many viewers back at work both shows have lost viewers. At 9pm Miranda pulled in 6.8 million followed by Mrs Brown’s Boys at 9.30 with 6.7 million viewers. Although both figures are down on last week’s ratings both comedies still performed strongly and both managed to beat the return of Inspector Morse spin-off Lewis on ITV1.

The seventh, and quite possibly final series, of Lewis launched with 6.2 million viewers. The format for the seventh season has changed slightly with stories now airing in two-parts, across subsequent weeks, instead of a self contained story in each episode. Lewis looks likely to end after the seventh series as actor Laurence Fox is reportedly moving to America and Kevin Whately is taking a break from the series.
