Stuart Murphy, Director of Programming, Sky1, Sky 2 and Sky 3, has appointed Duncan Gray to the role of Head of Entertainment of the Sky family of entertainment channels and Celia Taylor to Head of Factual and Features the broadcaster has confirmed. Their promotions are effective immediately and also cover the HD Sky1 network.



Gray joined Sky as Commissioning Editor, Entertainment in June 2009 and his first commission was Got To Dance fronted by Davina McCall. The series launched earlier this year, quickly cementing the broadcasters entertainment credentials. Gray has overseen the development of two sports panel shows, leading to the commission of the James Corden series A League Of Their Own that launches in March. Gray is currently developing a new entertainment format for broadcast in Summer, 2010.


Taylor joined Sky as Commissioning Editor, Factual and Features in June 2009. Her first commission was the critically acclaimed Ross Kemp: Middle East series. Taylor over saw as Executive Producer – Wayne Rooney: Street Striker, Jamie Redknapp’s Football’s Next Star and War Torn. Her most recent commission is Pineapple Dance Studios which beings airing in February.


Murphy says on the appointments: “Duncan and Celia have really delivered on our programming promise of bigger, better and really brilliant shows. The upcoming slate of programming and the talent they’ve brought to the channel on and off the screen are testament to their abilities, and there’s lots more to come. Their pedigree, expertise and passion are unrivalled, and most important of all they’re both fantastic people to work with who haven’t lost their hunger.”


Gray and Taylor were both on fixed-term contracts when they joined Sky in June, 2009.


The Sky senior programming team is now complete and comprises Sarah Wright as Head of Acquisitions, Duncan Gray as Head of Entertainment, Celia Taylor as Head of Factual and Features, Elaine Pyke as Head of Drama and Lucy Lumsden as Head of Comedy.
