Deadline report that the broadcaster has ordered five more scripts of the new fire-fighter drama. Chicago Fire saw an all important rise in ratings on Wednesday evening with 6.3 million viewers tuning in, with a 1.3 18-49 rating.
The drama, produced by Dick Wolf, had been seen, by some, as a likely candidate for cancellation following its modest premier and ratings drop last week. But the fact that last night’s episode, the 3rd of the series so far, saw ratings rise is seen as a good sign.
While NBC has yet to order additional episodes of Chicago Fire the fact it has ordered five more scripts is, at the moment, a sign of faith in its future. But will script orders turn into episode orders? Only time will tell…..
