Charlotte Moore is to be named the new controller of BBC One.

Media Guardian and Broadcast are reporting Moore, who is currently commissioning editor for documentaries at the BBC, is to officially replace Danny Cohen who is now BBC Director of Television. Since April, Moore has been interim controller of BBC One, the UK’s most watched channel.

The Guardian reports that the final round of the interviews took place last week and that the BBC are set to confirm her position “within days.” As BBC One controller she will oversee some of the UK’s biggest programmes such as EastEnders, Strictly Come Dancing and Doctor Who.

Moore joined the BBC in 2006 as a Commissioning Executive for Documentaries. Since 2009 she has been commissioning editor for documentaries across BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four. Her credits include Terry Pratchett’s Living With Alzheimers, The Choir: Unsung Town and Airport Live.
