As our poll on Daybreak has now concluded we have a new poll to tie us over until Friday – Who do you want to win Ultimate Big Brother? Or even Ulrika Jonsson – Who Wins, You Decide! To vote just look to your right and you’ll see our poll – select your choice and click vote. As ever we’ve got a small feature to accompany the poll this week giving a run down of the Big Brother housemates in line for the title.

Brian Dowling

The openly gay Irish housemate won the second series of Big Brother in 2001 and on the back of that launched a television presenting career. His presenting roles include stints on SMTV Live, narrating The Salon on Channel Four, Brain’s Boyfriends (not as gay as it sounds) and also appeared in Hell’s Kitchen and the Irish reality series Failte Towers.

Chantelle Houghton

Was one of the housemates on the 2006 series of Celebrity Big Brother. Houghton was placed in the house to fool other housemates such as Rula Lenska, Pete Burns and Michael Barrymore into thinking she was a member of a girl band – she wasn’t. It was part of Chantelle’s task by Big Brother into fooling the other housemates that she was a minor celebrity when in fact she wasn’t. During her time in the house she began a relationship with Ordinary Boys singer Samuel Preston. Following Houghton’s winning of the competition they married but later divorced.

Michelle Bass

Michelle was one of the contestants in the fifth season of Big Brother – dubbed ‘Evil Big Brother’ by the press. The series was notable for a fight which broke out between two factions of housemates which resulted in security being sent into the house and one housemate, Emma, leaving. The fight was caused when Michelle and Emma re-entered the house after a week in the ‘bedsit’ watching some of their fellow housemates bitch and backstab them all week. Since the end of BB5 Michelle has written columns for Okay, The People and News of the World about subsequent seasons of Big Brother.

Nick Bateman

Nick was one of the original housemates in the very first ever edition of Big Brother way back in 2000. He earned the nickname Nasty Nick from the tabloids for his breaking of the strict Big Brother rules in regard of nominations. Nick was caught trying to influence the votes of his fellow housemates and he was evicted – via the backdoor – from the house. Nick has remained one of the most memorable former housemates over the years

Nikki Grahame

Nikki Grahame was one of the housemates in the Big Brother 7 in 2006 which was eventually won by Pete Bennett. Nikki was famous for her temper tantrums inside the house and was voted out by the public only to be voted back in shortly after – some fans were unhappy about this and complained. Nikki and Pete had a relationship for a while but it didn’t last very long outside of the house. Nikki has previously returned to BB during its 10th season for the celebrations to mark the anniversary and won the Most Popular TV Contender award at the National Television Awards in 2006.

Samuel Preston

Former lead singer of the band The Ordinary Boys; Preston appeared in Celebrity Big Brother alongside Chantelle Houghton where the two started a romance. They were married after Big Brother and with the release of Chantelle’s autobiography the singer famously stormed off Never Mind the Buzzcocks after host Simon Amstell read extracts from it – teasing Preston. Following the break up of Ordinary Boys he launched his solo career and has also done some presenting work. In 2007 he and Chantelle divorced and now the two are in the house together sparking tabloid rumours of a reconciliation.

Ulrika Jonsson

Television personality who started her career at TV-AM and has gone on to present the likes of Gladiators in the 1990s, Dog Eat Dog, The National Lottery and was also a team captain on Shooting Stars. Ulrika’s long and varied career as seen her interview the likes of John Major and Gordon Brown while being involved in Eurovision, Come Dine With Me, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Dancing on Ice and, of course, Celebrity Big Brother.

Vanessa Feltz

Vanessa is probably still best remembered for her late 1990s chat-show on ITV and later the BBC – switching channels after a better offer. ITV replaced her with Trisha will the BBC cancelled her after it was revealed actors had been used as guests on the show. While Vanessa had nothing to do with the booking of guests the press always like someone to blame. Vanessa currently presents a radio show for BBC London and several years ago appeared on Wife Swap with Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee. If anything made us sympathise with Paul Daniels it was the sight of Vanessa taking him to a nightclub!

Victor Ebuwa

Victor was one of the contestants in the fifth season of Big Brother alongside Michelle Bass – the two were practically sworn enemies in the series. Victor’s harsh comments of Michelle and fellow housemate Emma across the space of a week ultimately contributed towards ‘Fight Night’ in which two factions of the house clashed on the return of Michelle and Emma to the house.
