It’s been announced that Pineapple Dance Studios will not return to Sky One for a second series. The show, a docu-soap style of series, had proved moderately successful with audiences with top ratings of nearly half a million viewers. The series also attracted media attention from various tabloids and was also mocked on Channel Four series You Have Been Watching and ITV‘s Harry Hill‘s TV Burp. The announcement of its demise will come as a shock to some who had expected the series to return to Sky One for a second outing. The series was narrated by former BBC News Anchor Michael Buerk.
The reason for the show’s cancellation has not been revealed by Sky but breakout star Louie Spence has been signed up for his own Sky series. Spence’s camp antics contributed towards the overall success of the series and he regularly appeared on Harry Hill’s TV series mocking himself.
