Oprah Winfrey has confirmed that Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance enhancing drugs during an interview.
It had been speculated for days that the former Tour de France winner had recorded an interview with the legendary talk show host confessing to doping after years of denial.
Winfrey appeared on CBS This Morning programme where she spoke about the interview which will be screened on OWN in the coming days in America.
“It was surprising to me. I would say that for myself, my team, all of us in the room, we were mesmerised and riveted by some of his answers.” – Oprah, speaking to CBS This Morning
Oprah said that she had over 100 questions prepared, most of which she got to ask. The interview is said to be so long that it will air over two days.
Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and given lifetime ban by the United States Anti-Doping Agency in 2012.
