The long-running CBS series drew 21.8 million viewers at 8pm with an 18-49 rating of 3.7; needless to say NCIS won the hour. The other broadcasters lagged behind considerably in terms of total viewers and the all important 18-49 demo.
The closet in terms of total viewers was NBC comedy Betty White’s Off Their Rockers which had 5.1 million viewers and a 1.4 for its first episode and 5.2 million viewers with a 1.5 18-49 rating for its second episode at 8.30pm. Fox‘s double-bill of Raising Hope had 3.8 million viewers, with a 1.7 18-49 rating, for its first episode and 3.3 million viewers with a 1.5 rating for the second at 8.30. ABC‘s The Taste drew 4.7 million viewers with a 1.6 rating while drama Hart of Dixie on The CW had 1.3 million viewers and a 0.5 18-49 rating.
At 9pm CBS once again dominated the hour with NCIS: Los Angeles seen by 17.1 million viewers with a 3.1 rating. Fox comedy New Girl rose to 4.6 million viewers with a 2.5 18-49 rating followed by The Mindy Project with 3.1 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. NBC’s Go On meanwhile attracted 3.8 million viewers with a 1.2 rating while Ryan Murphy’s comedy The New Normal dropped to 3.1 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 rating. ABC’s double-bill of Happy Endings attracted 2.9 million viewers with a 1.2 18-49 rating and 2.8 million viewers with a 1.3 18-49 rating. The hour was rounded off by Emily Owens MD on The CW with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.4 rating.
At 10pm CBS’s period piece Vegas hit a series high as 11.1 million viewers tuned in with a 18-49 rating of 1.9 while Deadline on NBC mustered 5 million viewers with a 1.3 18-49 rating.
