Overnight figures reveal that 6.66 million viewers tuned in with a 1.2 18-49 rating – down from last year’s series premier and finale. Not a brilliant start for Body of Proof which has always be seen as a “bubble show” and who’s future is far from secure.

ABC‘s The Taste had 4.8 million viewers with a 1.6 18-49 rating. Fox‘s Raising Hope meanwhile pulled in 3.7 million viewers with a 1.5 18-49 rating followed by a repeat of New Girl which had 2.8 million viewers and a 1.13 rating. NBC‘s double-bill of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers had 4.6 million for both editions with a 1.3 rating for the first episode and a slightly higher 1.4 rating for the second. Finally the 8pm hour was rounded off by Hart of Dixie on The CW with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.
At 9pm NCIS: Los Angeles also won the hour with 16.3 million viewers and a 2.7 18-49 rating. The Bachelor on ABC meanwhile attracted 8.1 million viewers and had a 2.6 rating. NBC’s Go On mustered 3.3 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 rating while Ryan Murphy’s freshman comedy The New Normal pulled in 3.5 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.
On The CW dark new drama series Cult from producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage failed to make an impressive debut. The drama, starring Matt Davis and Jessica Lucas, had had 900,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating making it an automatic contender for cancellation.
At 10pm CBS’s period drama Vegas mustered 9.6 million viewers with a 1.5 rating while Smash on NBC tumbled further with 3.2 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 rating.
