It may be months before the X Factor is due to return to our screens but press speculation over the line up of judges is rife. The 2012 series of the X Factor pulled in the lowest ratings for the ITV talent competition since its launch in 2004 and it was regularly beaten by BBC One rival Strictly Come Dancing.
The low ratings have prompted reports of another revamp and change to the line-up of judges for the new series. Reports also claim that both Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger have quit the panel but an ITV spokesperson has insisted no decisions have been made about who’ll be judging the various acts when the X Factor returns.
A multitude of names have been suggested by the press as being lined up by the producers. This week some reports claimed producers were hoping to add Robbie Williams to the panel but rumours continue persist over possible returns for Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole – rumoured to be in talks to return to the American X Factor.
Last year’s line-up consisted off Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh who is the last original judge left on the panel following plenty of coming and goings over the years.
