There’s plenty of watch on television this evening as Shameless returns to Channel 4 for its 11th and final series while on ITV2 its block of supernatural drama’s continues with The Vampire Diaries and 666 Park Avenue. Meanwhile on Channel 5 the revived and rebooted Dallas continues in its new late-night slot.
The Vampire Diaries: Catch Me If You Can
Last night’s episode was quite good; in fact we rather enjoyed it. The return of Rebekah certainly shook things up especially on the Elena and Stefan front. Elena’s confession that she’s in love with Damon should, hopefully, spell the end of her on/off relationship with Stefan. Yes folks we’re Delena fans (that’s the fan term for Damon & Elena).
Anyway in this week’s episode Klaus continues his training with Jeremy with his usual disregard for the safety and well being of others. Klaus’ attitude enrages Jeremy when Matt’s life is put at risk. Meanwhile back in Mystic Falls Rebekah reminds Stefan of their past.
The Vampire Diaries, 9pm on ITV2. Starring: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Claire Holt, Joseph Morgan, Steven R McQueen, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig with Marguerite MacIntyre, Rick Worthy, David Aplay and Nathaniel Buzolic as Kol.
666 Park Avenue – Murmurations
Going by last week’s opening episode of 666 Park Avenue the drama had all the ingredients to be a hit so quite why it flopped the other-side of the pond is beyond me. The drama certainly has an interesting premise and plenty of intrigue and suspense. It’s also a nice and different take on the supernatural format. However, subsequent episodes may reveal why 666 Park Avenue just didn’t find an audience back in the states.
In this week’s episode Henry is tempted to give Gavin classified information which would put his job at the Mayor’s office at risk. Meanwhile Jane finds an unusual resident in the walls of the apartment block.
666 Park Avenue, 10pm on ITV2. Starring: Vanessa Williams, Terry O’Quinn, Dave Annable, Rachael Taylor, Robert Buckley and Erik Palladino.
Shameless – Series 11, Episode 1
The 11th and final series of Shameless starts tonight on Channel 4; to be honest it’s a drama that probably should have had time called on it a few years ago. The departures of most of Frank Gallagher’s family over the years has left a very big hole which newer characters failed to fill. The new characters just didn’t have the warmth of the original set and most to this writer Shameless lost its way; it went from being a warm celebration of the working classes to a drama about sex, swearing and drugs. Maybe with the return of several characters from the past the 11th series of Shameless will return to form.
Mimi has taken control of the local school via its Parents-Teacher-Association as the Maguires plan to expand their operations further. A revelation about Jamie’s true heritage though may just halt their plans.
Shameless, 10pm on Channel 4. Starring: David Threlfall, Rebecca Atkinson, Tina Malone, Nicky Evans, Aaron McCusker, Sally Carman, Karen Bryson, Kira Martin, Alice Barry, Qasim Akhtar, Angelina Ball, Stephen Lord and Jack Deam.
Dallas – Trial and Error
Ryland threatens to reveal secrets about Ann’s past which would destroy her and put her marriage to Bobby at risk. John Ross continues in his schemes to take power at Ewing Energies while Christopher changing his tactics would Pamela.
Dallas, 10.55pm on Channel 5. Starring: Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Brenda Strong, Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Emma Bell and Mitch Pileggi with Judith Light, Kuno Becker and Ken Kercheval as Cliff Barnes.
