The HBO drama continues with this first instalment on UK television of series three’s opening episode.
HBO’s acclaimed drama from The Wire’s David Simon and Eric Overmyer of Homicide: Life on the Street returns for ten new episodes as the New Orleanians continue their battle to preserve what matters to their vulnerable city.
It’s now more than two years since Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and money is finally arriving to aid the city’s regeneration. But the help of outsiders brings little comfort to the Big Easy locals. Attorney Toni Bernette continues her fight against a corrupt police department and meets a new ally, LP Everett, during her investigation into the post-Katrina killings, while trombonist Antoine Batiste flirts with martyrdom when he examines his life and discovers meaning and a sense of civic purpose where he least expects it.
Elsewhere, chef Janette Desautel encounters her old nemesis and a new suitor, while in the wake of the brutal assault and robbery she suffered, bar owner LaDonna Batiste-Williams finds herself in a different kind of hell when she must live with her in-laws.
