Their aim is to collect and record tangible evidence of ghostly activity. Armed with a variety of techniques to try and prove the hauntings do exist, the Syndicate is also joined by a specially trained canine investigator, Captain, a three-year-old yellow Labrador.
This first episode sees the Paranormal Syndicate head to Fall River, Massachusetts to explore the site of one of America’s most brutal murders. In 1892, Lizzie Borden was tried and acquitted for the axe murders of her father and step-mother, and it is thought that her ghost still resides in the infamous farmhouse that was scene to this slaying.
In Los Angeles, the team also investigate a silent movie theatre on Fairfax Avenue where they hope to document proof that it is still inhabited by two of its previous owners who died there.
Later in the series, the Syndicate visit an ominous LA residence believed to be the site of the infamous Black Dahlia murder, and gain unprecedented access to one of the world’s most notorious ‘super haunts’. The Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, saw thousands of violent criminals lose their lives behind its walls from torture, murder, suicide and sickness, and it is believed that many of their restless souls are imprisoned there forever.
