Hemlock Grove to return

Hemlock Grove, NetflixHemlock Grove has been renewed for a second season by Netflix. The first series of the horror murder mystery thriller launched in April.

The series revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell.

Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems. The TV story is an adaptation of the Brian McGreevy novel of the same name.

Hemlock Grove marked the first foray into television by internationally acclaimed horror master Eli Roth, who also directed the first episode. The 13 part first run was executive produced by Roth, McGreevy & Shipman, Mark Verheiden, Deran Sarafian, Eric Newman and Michael Connolly.

For the second outing Netflix have revealed former The Walking Dead boss Charles H Eglee is joining Hemlock Grove as one of the executive producers.

The ten part second series will go into production later this year with its debut on Netflix in 2014.

The series was developed by Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman. The one-hour episodes are produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.
