Davina McCall, Channel 4Channel 4 announced this morning that there will be some familiar faces joining in the fun for the latest series of The Million Pound Drop Live while Davina herself tried earlier this week to woo some telly faces onto the show.

First up we have Aston Merrygold and J.B. Gill from boyband JLS. Aston and J.B. take on The Drop in the hopes of winning big for their charity the JLS Foundation in conjunction with Cancer Research UK.

And in the last show of the series Radio One DJ Greg James pairs up with his celeb pal, hardened business woman and entrepreneur Hilary Devey. Greg and Hilary will be hoping to beat The Drop and win some serious cash for their chosen charities the Stroke Association and the Carers Trust (Crossroads Care/Princess Royal Trust for Carers).

With Davina McCall at the helm, players must try to keep hold of a million pounds in real cash. And there are now just 7 questions standing between the players and a fortune, but it’s going to be tougher than ever to make it to the final question. Players must be brave and have nerves of steel to beat The Drop, as one false move could literally see thousands of pounds drop through the floor.

For the first time ever, teams of four can also take on The Million Pound Drop. They might be friends, family or work colleagues. Their relationships will be put to the ultimate test. With the clock ticking, the pressure is on.

Speaking on BBC’s The One Show earlier this week Davina tried to woo hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones onto the drop, noting:

We’re now playing teams of four, which can be an entire family. It’s really exciting… and Alex I’ve noted that you two definitely have to come on, I think you’d be very good…

This week I had to remind myself, because actually you start talking about bundles, but its bundles of £25,000. You flick it and its £50 notes all the way through. – Davina McCall.
