Future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey In Doubt

BravoThe future of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey is in doubt according to press reports.

The fifth season of the New Jersey version of Real Housewives is currently on Bravo but its future is uncertain. Cast member Teresa Giucide and her husband Joe Guidice are currently embroiled in an on-going legal case after being charged with over 30 counts of money fraud.

The on-going battle has put Teresa Giucide’s future with the show in doubt and that could lead to its cancellation. According to NY Daily News executives at Bravo are in fierce debate regarding the show and its future.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is the fourth entry in the Bravo franchise and launched in 2009. The franchise originally launched in 2006 with The Real Housewives of Orange County. In 2008 Bravo expanded the franchise by launching The Real Housewives of New York. Filming on a sixth season of the New York entry recently began after delays caused by cast members such as LuAnn de Lesseps and Aviva Drescher refusing to sign new contracts due to a despite about pay.

The Real Housewives franchise also includes editions based in Atlanta, Miami and Beverley Hills. There are also international versions such as The Real Housewives of Vancouver and the soon to launch The Real Housewives of Melbourne and the now cancelled Real Housewives of Athens.

The short-lived British cable series Desperate Scousewives was a combination of the series along with other reality shows such as The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea.
