The third outing of the lottery drama is likely to air in 2015 and will focus on staff working in a stately home in a Yorkshire costal town; with filming taking place in Yorkshire. The series will once again be written by Kay Mellor.
The second series of The Syndicate starred Alison Steadman, Mark Addy, Jimi Mistry and Siobhan Finneran and revolved around s group of hospital workers who unexpectedly win the lottery. It proved a hit for BBC One with an average audience of over 6 million viewers.
The first series aired in 2012 and starred Joanna Page, Timothy Spall, Matthew Lewis and Matthew McNulty as supermarket workers who win a fortune.
The delay in The Syndicate’s return is likely due to Mellor’s work on her new BBC drama series In The Club. Mellor is also working on the proposed American remake of The Syndicate which will air on ABC under the name Lucky 7.
