SupernaturalCanadian actor Tahmoh Penikett has landed a recurring role on Supernatural.

Entertainment Weekly reveal the actor will play a fallen angel in the 9th season of The CW’s veteran show. Penikett will appear in multiple episodes as Ezekiel a “dignified warrior angel injured in the fall”. The character will first appear in the 9th season premier which airs on October 8th.

Supernatural’s returning show-runner Jeremy Carver stated at Comic Con, last month, that the 9th season would see Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) dealing with a variety of angels all of which have “lots of different agendas”.

Penikett played Karl ‘Helo’ Agathan in Syfy‘s re-imaged Battlestar Galactica. The character was originally only intended to appear in the 2003 mini-series but the producers were impressed by Penikett’s performance and the character remained part of the series through to its finale in 2009. Following the conclusion of Battlestar Galactica the actor landed a role in Joss Whedon’s short-lived Fox series Dollhouse. More recently he appeared in the critically acclaimed Canadian series Continuum.
