Channel 5 has dropped Rolf Harris as the host of Animal Clinic.
The Guardian reports Ben Fogle will replace Harris when the second series of Animal Clinic makes a return. A spokesperson for Channel 5 told The Guardian that “no other presenter was ever contracted to do the second series.”
The television veteran was re-arrested on Monday over new allegations of sexual offences. He has been re-bailed to a date later this month. Although the Metropolitan Police did not name Harris this week, he was identified by the tag “Yewtree 5″.
The 83-year-old Australian entertainer was first arrested and bailed by officers from Operation Yewtree in March on suspicion of sexual offences. Scotland Yard state that his arrest falls under the strand of the investigation termed as ‘others’.
Rolf Harris fronted the popular Animal Hospital on BBC One from 1994 – 2004. The first series of Animal Clinic was pulled from the schedules in April following his initial arrest.
Ben Fogle rose to fame when he appeared in BBC One reality show Castaway. He went on to present Countryfile, Animal Park and is currently a special correspondent for NBC’s Today Show in America.
