Producers have now revealed that Connie Nielsen is to join the line up as a love interest for Bacon’s character. Nielsen is best known for starring in Law & Order: SVU.

TV Line reports the actress will play an art dealer named Lily Gray, who turns to Hardy when she encounters a problem.

The first series suffered from falling ratings which saw the second run commissioned for 15 episodes rather than 22 by Fox. The Following will return to screens in 2014.
