Cory MonteithJane Lynch has praised Glee’s tribute episode to Cory Monteith describing it as the “most beautiful thing”.

Monteith died earlier this Summer from a toxic mixture of drugs and alcohol; the actor played Finn in Fox’s hit musical comedy. Production on the fifth season was delayed in the wake of Monteith’s death and its premier date was pushed back accordingly.

Producers quickly stated that they would write the character of Finn out during the fifth season and produce a tribute episode to Monteith. Series creator Ryan Murphy has denied press reports that the series would mirror Montheith’s death by using overdose in Finn’s passing.

Lynch took to Twitter to thank Ryan Murphy and series producers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan for the episode. On the social networking site Lynch wrote “Just read Cory Monteith memorial episode. Most beautiful thing. Thank you, MrRPMurphy @BFalchuk Ian Brennan”

Fox recently stated that the sixth season of Glee – due to air next year and already commissioned by the broadcaster – would likely be its last.
