Production Suspended On One Life To Live

One-Life-to-Live-2013-logoProduction has been indefinitely suspended on the revived soap opera One Life To Live.

Prospect Park, who produce the resurrected soap, has decided to suspend production pending the outcome of a lawsuit against ABC. The lawsuit is over ABC‘s usage of several OLTL characters which were loaned to General Hospital following the television finale of OLTL. Prospect Park claims ABC had no right to kill off OLTL characters without their permission something which happened in General Hospital.

The lawsuit between Prospect Park and ABC has been going on for several months so it is unclear why the decision has been made to suspend OLTL pending the outcome of the case. The Los Angeles Times has confirmed that production has been halted on OLTL while Prospect Park concentrate on fellow revived soap All My Children.

It would seem as though the revival of All My Children has proved more popular online than OLTL; a reversal of fortunes as when both serials were on ABC it was OLTL that was more popular. The success of AMC maybe part of the reason why OLTL has had its production suspended. Production on AMC will re-start later this following a break in the schedule.

At the moment Prospect Park has stated production on OLTL will begin again when the lawsuit is resolved but its future looks decidedly uncertain.
