Viewers in the ITV Border region are still being frozen out of Independence debates and coverage – as they are set to miss out on another debate tonight.

STV’s HQ in Glasgow.

Tonight STV will carry an hour long Independence debate with Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon and Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour, Anas Sarwar. Topics of debate will be welfare and pensions tonight and ITV Border won’t be showing the broadcast, disenfranchising The Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.

Pam Royle on Lookaround mentioned that viewers could watch the debate on STV’s website. Some viewers can watch STV on satellite by adding the channel manually. People with freeview can’t do this however.

ITV Border are planning to increase their local news commitment to the area after four and a half years of being merged with Tyne Tees.
