The Avengers television spin-off will launch in the UK on Friday 27th September at 8pm on Channel 4. That’s just a few days after its launch on ABC in America and is another sign that the gaps between UK and US broadcasters are getting shorter.
There was a time when UK fans had to wait months to see their favourite American shows but now for a string of shows – such as Game of Thrones and The Vampire Diaries – the gap is just weeks or days.
Joss Whedon’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is one of the most hotly anticipated dramas of the new season and the media will pay close attention to how it performs on ABC. The television series will star Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennett and Scottish actor Iain De Caestecker [pictured] known for his roles in The Secret of Crickley Hall, Young James Herriot and Lip Service.
The actor also starred in the award-winning supernatural drama The Fades which was criminally axed by BBC Three after just one series.
