Spartacus’ Simon Merrells Lands Tomorrow People Role

Tomorrow PeopleSimon Merrells is to appear in The CW‘s Tomorrow People reboot in a recurring role.

TV Line reports the British actor will appear in several episodes of The Tomorrow People which will star Robbie Amell. Producer Phil Klemmer told TV Line that Merrell’s character will be “somebody who has a lot of power over” over Jedikiah [Mark Pallegrino] adding “We’re going to get to see him, hopefully, through the back half [of the season].”

Simon Merrells most recent role on American television was as Marcus Crassus in the final season of Starz‘s stylistic historical drama Spartacus: War of the Damned. Merrells’ other notable roles include British dramas such as Ashes to Ashes, Silk, London’s Burning and Family Affairs.


Last week it was revealed that Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens will be the voice of biological computer TIM in The Tomorrow People. The CW series is based on the cult British drama that originally ran on ITV between 1973 and 1979 and was revived in the 1990s between 1992 and 1995; more recently a series of audio dramas has been produced based on the series.

The CW’s version is helmed by Arrow‘s Greg Berlanti and Vampire Diaries‘ Julie Plec. The Tomorrow People will premier on Wednesday 9th October.
