Tomorrow PeopleCarly Pope is join The CW‘s re-imaged series The Tomorrow People in a recurring role.

TV Line reveals that the actress will recur in the first series of the sci-fi as Morgan Burke. The character has special powers – making her one of the tomorrow people – but has managed to conceal her paranormal abilities from the government thanks to a relationship she has with a powerful man. However, her powers – of course – become exposed making her very vulnerable.

Canadian actress Carly Pope had her first big break in the television series Popular in which she appeared in from 1999 to 2001. The actress has gone on to have roles in many other shows since then such as Tru Calling, The Collector, the Courtney Cox series Dirt, 24 and Outlaw.

The CW’s version of The Tomorrow People stars Robbie Amell, Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Mark Pellegrino and Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens will voice the show’s biological computer TIM. The series is helmed by Arrow‘s Greg Berlanti and Vampire Diaries’ Julie Plec.

The original series ran in the UK on broadcaster ITV between 1973 and 1979. It was revived for television in the 1990s running for several seasons between 1992 and 1995. More recently, prior to The CW’s revival, The Tomorrow People was resurrected for a series of audio dramas.
