The return of Boyzone gathers pace following the release of their new album ‘BZ20’ which debuted at #6 – their eighth album to land a Top 10 chart position.
Currently embarking on a UK and Ireland arena tour, Boyzone will commence 2014 with the release of the new single Light Up The Night on February 10th.
Produced by Brian Rawling and the Metrophonic team Light Up The Night captures the boys at their best with a soaring, emotive hook which stands alongside their biggest hits to date. The song was written by Josh Kear (multiple Grammy Award winner for Lady Antebellum and Carrie Underwood) and Ed Hill.
Boyzone’s twentieth anniversary celebrations commenced in September when they premiered their recent single Love Will Save The Day as part of a Greatest Hits medley on Australia’s singing talent series The X Factor. Subsequently A-listed at BBC Radio 2, the quartet’s UK telly appearances have included The Jonathan Ross Show, Lorraine, This Morning and The Paul O’Grady Show.
Ronan, Keith, Shane and Mikey will return to our screens on December 13th when ITV broadcast another special with the foursome in an hour-long special Boyzone at 20: No Matter What. Hosted by Danni Minogue, the show will feature performances of their best-loved hits as well as a selection of songs from BZ20 in front of a live studio audience.
The show will also include archive footage charting the band’s career, and exclusive interviews giving each band member the opportunity to tell their part of the Boyzone story. The boys will also pay tribute to Stephen Gately, who passed away in 2009, and reflect on life without him in the band.
The Boyzone tour dates are during the remainder of December on the 14th at Newcastle, Metro Radio Arena, the 15th the Glasgow, The Hydro, for the 17th and 18th its the Brighton, Centre. Two venues in London host the group with The O2 on the 20th and Wembley Arena on the 21st. The tour brings its 2013 UK dates to a close on the 22nd with the last gig at the Manchester Phones4u Arena.
